Ashraf Al-Shami

Ashraf was dead set on being an English teacher when he went to Sana’a University to earn his bachelor’s degree in English language. He has been an English teacher and trainer for the past 12 years.

Further, he has helped create awareness amongst students regarding English language education and its benefits. Moreover, He started developing new approaches for learning English successfully. Ashraf has made a major contribution to teacher training, instructing more than 100 teachers across his city.

To engage his students, Ashraf believes that classroom activities should correspond closely to real-life situations. Ashraf has been a successful IBT test preparation trainer for the past 5 years; moreover, he is one of a few teachers in Yemen who can train the IBT test skills effectively.

Abdullah Suloom

At 17 years old, Abdullah moved from his home in Hadramot to teach English in Sana’a. While there, he also pursued his deep love for the English language which he later incorporated into becoming a professional ESL teacher in Yemen.

His experience in teaching was so impactful, that it inspired many of Saloom’s students to become teachers. In addition, he has also delivered many workshops and training courses to many teachers in Sana’a. Saloom’s encouragement of pride and self-awareness amongst his young students has also helped motivating his students to speak and write English professionally.

Moreover, Abdullah managed to find his own ways of developing material to use in class, which engages and challenges students at some point. Abdullah is one of most distinctive teachers because he keeps up to date with the latest methods and theories for English teachers.

Anisa

Helping students set goals and explaining why particular class activities are useful, Anisa is one of the most remarkable teachers at A2Z because she always makes sure that the lessons are learnercentered and students are active in lessons, to keep them engaged.

In addition, Anisa believes that people learn better by doing things. Furthermore, she has been a teacher since 2012, and she managed to teach in more than six English intuitions in Sana’a. To add more, she uses a wide variety of materials and activities to personalize lessons.

She has always believed that teachers should get to know the interests, needs and goals of the students and plan lessons that relate to those. Anisa is one of the teachers at A2Z who thinks that helping students to understand that improving their General English knowledge will lead to a better IELTS score, while also teaching them the specific skills required for the exam.

Mohammed Sallam

Having served the English language institutions sector in Yemen for the past 7 years, Mohammed managed to teach in three different English centers before deciding to be a part of A2Z’s family, which gives him the opportunity to instruct a wide range of students from various backgrounds and all facets

He is a bit of a “nutter”- which makes learning from him very enticing and challenging. He earned bachelor’s degree in English language from Sana’a university and a master’s degree from Lebanese university.

Further to that, Mohammad has succeeded in Academic writing effectively and effortlessly over the past two years by applying the gradual release of responsibility approach.

Ahmed Zain

Ahmed has always been a teacher who assists students to become independent learners, by giving them the necessary study skills to be able to use and practice their English independently. Ahmed has been a teacher since 2010.

Moreover, he has taught in so many famous English teaching centers in Sana’a until he found himself to be one of A2Z’s team members. Ahmed believes that learning English should always be attached to having fun. In addition, he truly believes that teaching students how to use vocabulary and grammar in their written and spoken language is so important.

Further, he thinks that to be a truly good English teacher, you must also instruct your students clearly by giving them crystal clear directions in the class. Ahmed is creative because he involves learning English with using technology in the classroom. He thinks that Interactive screens, websites and apps are part of a teacher’s job.

Elyas Alshami

Elyas has been one of the teachers who believe that teachers should listen to what students want, but also they have to make sure students are aware of what their own needs and goals are and how to achieve them.

Despite of his young age, Elyas has been one of the most recognizable teachers at A2Z owning to his positive energy that he keeps spreading at A2Z. Moreover, He has been an English teacher since he was 19 years old. Elyas always gives his students constructive feedback and helps them to learn from it. He believes that getting regular feedback from students is also important, so teachers are aware of how students perceive lessons and to make sure they are happy.

Elyas does this with structured weekly tutorials and through informal conversations with his students. Furthermore, he focuses on all skill areas (reading, writing, speaking, listening) as well grammar and vocabulary, so students develop across the board. Teacher Elyas equips his students to introduce these skills in English language classrooms by applying intensive training in his classes.
